$800 for the best non-fiction piece: Tharunka Writing Competition (Australia)

Wikipedia: Non-fiction (or nonfiction) is the form of any narrative, account, or other communicative work whose assertions and descriptions are understood to be fact. This presentation may be accurate or not—that is, it can give either a true or a false account of the subject in question—however, it is generally assumed that authors of such accounts believe them to be truthful at the time of their composition or, at least, pose them to their audience as historically or empirically true.

Tharunka’s Non-Fiction Writing Competition is open to entries by any student at an Australian university. We accept entries up to 3000 words. Entries can be mailed to Tharunka PO Box 173 Kingsford NSW 2032 or submitted online below. First prize is $800 and a one year subscription to Voiceworks Magazine. Entries close July 17 2012.
