Deadline: 1 December 2012
What is found poetry? Found poetry takes an existing text of some kind (letters, newspaper articles, etc.) and creates something new. For the sake of this anthology, you will be presented with a selection of items spanning a single lifetime, that of Dr. Patrick Sokas. You will then scan the text for any language that jumps out at you - single words, phrases, an entire line. You can rearrange to your heart's content - but you may not add any new words.

GUIDELINES
Please make submissions electronically to FoundPatrick@yahoo.com. Include your name and contact information. Submit one poem at a time, referencing which article provided the words for your poem. Please place the poem in the body of the email and not as an attachment. If submitting in response to the movie reviews OR the political editorials, you may chose to use more than one of these. Combining other articles will not work with the anticipated layout.
Please note that submissions must be found poems, poems that rely on words appearing in the article but may be repurposed. See the listing What Is Found Poetry to links with examples.
Compensation will be $25 upon publication, along with a copy of the anthology. Submissions will be accepted from August 1, 2012 to December 1, 2012. Notification will be made on a rolling basis. As I will be using a guest poet to aid in the selection process, I cannot completely control response time, but will strive to be sensitive to the wait. Publication is expected in June, 2013.
